How to ruin your hard earned progress

January 24, 20252 min read

How to GUARANTEE you make no progress, maybe even go backwards!

You may have worked out by now that my emails are usually inspired by a recent IG post that I have made.... This one is no different! If you want to see the OG post -CLICK HERE

So lets get stuck in.... here is a list of things to do if you wanna destroy your jiujitsu, strength, fat loss etc etc... progress!

  1. Avoid recovery- Make sure you train EVERY DAY, and make sure you train HARD!! Tired?? Too bad, get to training. Rest, deloads and sleep are for the weak!

  2. Don't follow a structures strength program- I mean, you shouldn't even support your BJJ with strength anyway right. But if you do just make sure you just do whatever you "feel like" doing on the day. I'm sure you'll be fine

  3. Coffee and energy drinksare all the energy YOU need to get you through your gruelling sessions, but if you do eat make sure to skip out on protein and bonus points if it comes from a hole in the wall

  4. Never get more than 4 hours sleep, who do you think you are? Princess Diana?

  5. Got an injury? Thats weakness leaving the body, train through it - you might need to whack a bit of tape on it but just keep going, train through the pain!

  6. At BJJ make sure you NEVER drill, just roll and roll hard! Especially with that giant blue belt who has something to prove

  7. Avoid any and all feedback- They don't know what you've googled, who are they to offer advice?!

  8. This one is important - compare yourselfCONSTANTLY!! Keep score of all the times your team mates subbed you and you them, this is what counts after all!

Anyone got anything to add to this list? Please let me know by replying to this email.

Now I hope it's obvious, but incase it's not. Please do the opposite of this list if you want to progress at your sport, training or anything really

We need to train hard of course we do, but there is such a thing as under recovering and if you are always getting niggling injuries, you're always fatigued, your injuries don't heal you're grumpy etc - you may need to adjust your schedule and maybe some other things

Anyway thats a pretty long one for today! If you didn't know - I have a bunch of free stuff, including a workout on the app now.CLICK HEREto check it out.

Peace ✌️
